A wellness facilitator -
mental health social worker, mindfulness teacher, and reflexologist who genuinely cares about people AND believes in them. I am constantly inspired by the tenacity of the human spirit – how we live, connect and overcome. I’ve lived and worked in different communities and travelled extensively to find that so much of life is about mindful relationships. Especially the one we have with ourselves. I am full of gratitude for the many teachers, past and present that I’ve had the honour to walk alongside. And I’m passionate about sharing this wisdom and in creating space for others to reconnect with their own light and inner wisdom. |
I LOVE WHAT I DO
I have a passion for the possibilities; discovering and learning new things and being of service. I easily connect with people, of all ages, and have an informal, compassionate, and person-centered approach. Having dealt with my own pain, struggles and healing, I know the courage it takes to show up and go inward, and the importance of feeling safe, listened to, and truly heard and understood... the power of mindful relationships and having a respectful, genuine connection, which is why I offer a safe space that welcomes the whole version of you.
The wellness approaches I specialise in have all, in some way, been a personal attempt to overcome traumatic events and become less anxious, calm and more joyful. Even landing my first job in the mental health field, over twenty-five years ago, was the universe nudging me along the path of mental wellness. At a personal level, 'talking' therapies scratched the surface, but it was cultivating more mind-body awareness, digging deeper with somatic work - 'felt-perception' and re-negotiating events on a body-based level - that was the key to experiencing relief and change that you can feel.
WHAT I DO
Mindfulness is at the core of what I do - cultivating more present moment awareness and facilitating a mindful way through depression, anxiety, stress, ill-health and pain. My focus is mental health - mind-body awareness and emotional wellness, with a particular interest in supporting women whose lives have been impacted by the effects of childhood trauma and interpersonal abuse.
Wellness is a dynamic process of change and growth - ‘a state of complete physical, mental, and social wellbeing, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.’ (The World Health Organisation). And just as there are countless ways to cultivate well-being on an ever-changing path of wellness, I offer a myriad of services for connecting you with inner wisdom and becoming aware of and making choices for nourishing vibrant health.
Our work together will be personalised to meet your unique needs and may include any combination of Somatic and Mindfulness-Based Interventions; Walk and Talk/Bush Walk Therapy; Mindfulness Exercises and Activities; Labyrinth Walking and/or Nature Immersion that interests you.
Specialties and Approach:
Specialising in Somatic Interventions that cultivate mind-body connections; Mindfulness-Based Therapies (MBCT, MBSR) and Informal Mindfulness Practices fostering more present-moment awareness in everyday life.
HOW I WORK
I offer a non-judgmental space where you can be free to express yourself and give voice to what might be holding you back, or causing pain. I will listen. I’m not going to ‘analyse’ you, judge you or what survival skills you’ve used to cope. Offering a warm, heart-centered approach and safe space to connect with the wisdom you already hold to take your next steps to unconditional self-love, balanced living and a calmer more peaceful state of being, expanding possibilities in your life.
It’s important to say that all this healing stuff is done collaboratively. Although I'm a guide who draws from a lot of education, training and experience, ultimately, it’s you who sets the course and pace. I hope to inspire and support you to embrace change, flow with that change, and to connect with the light, guidance and wisdom of your own heart.
If deep inside, you feel lost or disconnected from everything, feel that there has to be something more to life than your current life experience, you are not alone. You belong here. Looking to cultivate more present moment awareness, opportunities to practice mindfulness and take care of your mental, emotional, and physical health? You belong here. Taking responsibility for our own wellness is key to changing and transforming our lives. It all begins with self-love.
